Nancy L. Sentel, 84, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27, 2021, at her residence, with her family by her side. Nancy was born April 7, 1937, in Defiance, Ohio, daughter of the late Emerson and Alberta (Bauer) Gump. She was a 1955 graduate of Defiance High School. Nancy married Richard L. Sentel on November 17, 1956 in Defiance, Ohio, and he survives. Nancy worked as a Department Manager at J.C. Penny, retiring in 1991. She previously worked at Chief Supermarket in Defiance. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Defiance. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed sewing, camping, traveling to Florida, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard L. Sentel of Defiance, Ohio; four children, Leesa (Scott) Glover of Morehead, Kentucky, David (Cindy) Sentel of Madison, Alabama, Stacy (Dana Speelman) Cottrell of Montpelier, Ohio, and Susan (Paul) Shock of Defiance, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Donald Gump.
Graveside services for Nancy L. Sentel will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance with Pastor Dave Brobston officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio.
