Nancy R. (Graber) Roth, age 70, passed away in St. Vincent’s Medical Center on November 18, 2022. She was born on January 2, 1952, in the Belgian Congo to missionary parents Archie and Irma (Beitler) Graber. Nancy married Loren D. Roth on August 11, 1990, and he preceded her in death in 2017.
Nancy was a graduate of TASOK (The American School of Kinshasa H.S.), Taylor University and University of Toledo. She spent her entire professional career in Pettisville Schools, working as a classroom teacher, guidance counselor, music teacher and elementary principal. She also spent time as an AIMM student hostel parent in Kinshasa, Zaire during 1983-1985.
Nancy was well known for her piano skills and her ability to connect with children. She served many with her solid, reliable character and ability to tackle whatever was in front of her. She had strong compassion for people and would frequently seek to encourage individuals via creative writing.
Nancy was heavily involved with her home church, Archbold Evangelical Church, through teaching, music and serving on the mission board.
She is survived by sons Philip (McKalyn) of Wauseon, and Alex (Hannah) of Upland, Indiana, as well as three grandchildren: Abe, Nora and Naomi.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation for Nancy will be held from 2 P.M. until 6 P.M. at Archbold Evangelical Church on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, also at the church. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Helping Hands Unlimited attention Home of Hope.
