At Monday evening’s Napoleon City Council meeting, an ordinance that would increase bulk water rates over a three-year period was discussed.
The Crescent News reports that, under the current rate, customers are charged $7.71 per 1,000 gallons of water. If the proposed ordinance is approved, that rate would increase to $7.94 in 2014, $8.18 in 2015 and $8.43 in 2016.
The ordinance would also establish testing fees. Council approved the ordinance on its first reading.
The News also reports that Napoleon Council approved a number of legislative items under suspension, including an ordinance establishing a zoning classification for around 55 acres of land for the Napoleon Area Schools elementary school and a resolution to enter into a contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation to purchase salt.
