Nearly 400 jobs are anticipated to be lost as a result of Lourdes University’s closure, leaving hundreds of employees looking for their next move and generating more general concerns about the future of higher education in northwest Ohio. While choices for continuing education are being provided to students, it is much less obvious how faculty, staff, and administrators will proceed. It is challenging to replace many of those positions locally because they are specialized and closely related to higher education.
