The state says there are $2.3 billion dollars in unclaimed funds just waiting for their rightful owners to pick up. The money, which the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Unclaimed Funds, is often forgotten in bank accounts, rent or utility deposits, uncashed checks and uncashed insurance policies. You can see if you have any money coming to you by checking the department’s website or call the Division of Unclaimed Funds. There is no charge.
