The new Bryan Police and Fire Complex was unveiled with a grand reception Sunday afternoon.
The new $7 Million complex is about 45,000-square-feet
It includes such things as a back bay that is always open for visiting police officers, allowing any police officer in the county to drive in, shut the door and transfer a prisoner to a holding cell.
The building also features an intranet database accessible from Wi-Fi transponders on every police cruiser and fire engine in the city, high efficiency heating, cooling and lighting systems, a gym, training rooms and a full kitchen. There are also several unoccupied offices and unfinished rooms to accomodate plans for future growth.
