The Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio received high praise during recent inspections.
The Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio met Wednesday, when they approved a 2014 operating budget as well as enhancements to the facility.
CCNO recently had a state jail inspection, in which the inspector interacted with both staff and inmates.
The cleanliness of the facility, along with the fact that it has been well maintained for 23 years, was noted.
CCNO met all state standards, and will receive formal notification in the next four to six weeks of the results.
A group of corrections officers from Ontario, Canada, toured CCNO on Oct. 8th, and the Canadian staff had high praise for the cleanliness of the facility; amount of professional interaction between CCNO staff and inmates; work system used to support better inmate behavior; as well as reduced inmate movement.
