NHTSA announces recall of more than 250,000 Kia vehicles and 85,000 Hyundai cars.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration announced the recall of more than 250,000 Kia vehicles and 85,000 Hyundai cars over an issue with fuel tanks that could cause them to melt. The recall includes 250,547 Kia K5 vehicles made from 2021-2024 model years, manufactured at Kia Georgia from March 27, 2020, through Jan. 23, 2024, that are equipped with a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine.
