Nicole R. Forbes, age 32, of St. Joe, Indiana, passed away early Thursday morning, February 16, 2017 at St. Joe Hospital in Fort Wayne. Niki was a 2003 graduate of Garrett High School, where she played softball and volleyball and was a manager of the basketball team. She had worked at DeKalb Metal Finishing. Niki was also loved to travel, was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and was very artistic, enjoying drawing, decorating and sketching.
Niki was born November 23, 1984 in Bryan Ohio. She is survived by her parents, Terry L. Forbes, of West Unity, Ohio and Catherine L. (Simmons) Forbes, of Clanton, Alabama; siblings, Jeremiah Forbes, of Augusta, Georgia, Matt Forbes and Mandy (Nick) Garman, both of Auburn; maternal grandparents, Sylvia Bost, of Bryan and Richard (Doris) Simmons, of Cadillac, Michigan; paternal grandmother, Donna Forbes, of Stryker; aunts and uncles, Curtis (Charissa) Miller, of Hicksville, Jane (Michael) Woolace, of Stryker, Barry Forbes, of Stryker, John (Renee) Forbes, of Stryker, Amber (Chris) Radtke, of Romulus, Michigan, Rhonda (Miguel) Denyer, of Garden City, Michigan and Tonya (Paul) Rincon, of Wayne, Michigan; nephew, Connor Garman, of Auburn and many, much loved extended family members. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ervin Forbes, maternal grandfather, Joe Bost and great grandmothers, Louise Roy and Catherine Simmons.
Visitation for Niki R. Forbes will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at Living Hope Free Methodist Church, 603 West Jackson Street, West Unity, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. with Pastors Dave Mathis and Nick Woodall officiating. The family requests those attending services to wear their brightest colors for Niki.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family to make a donation to the church.
