It was a tense scene in Pioneer during the Village Council meeting there. As expected, the council was in discussion over the proposed plan to sell water from an area aquifer to other communities. Pioneer Mayor, Ed Kidston, who also owns Artesian of Pioneer wants to drill into the aquifer and start pumping. The water in question supplies water to nine area counties. Several citizens spoke to the board, bringing up just that point. As the discussion became more heated, Councilman, Albert Kwader called for Kidston to resign as mayor. The meeting is just one of many hot debates over this issue in area towns in recent weeks.
