Nora Black, 83 years, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Laurels of DeKalb, Butler, Indiana. Nora was born June 17, 1931 in Perry County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Finley and Lillie (Rice) Baker. She was married to Woodrow Fugate for 14 years. Nora then married Kenneth Ray Black on August 6, 1962 in Auburn, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2004. Nora was employed by Pittsfield of Indiana as an Inspector for 39 years. She enjoyed knitting, reading and loved all animals.
Nora is survived by six sons, Cecil (Debbie) Fugate of Hamilton, Kenneth Fugate of Hamilton, John Fugate of Hamilton, Ted (Debbie) Fugate of Visalia, California, James “Woody” Fugate of Perris, California and Norman (Wanda) Fugate of South Atkins, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her husbands; one son, Terry Black; one grandson, Norman Fugate Jr; one great-grandson, Matthew Fugate; and four brothers, Asher, Tinsley, Jasper and Shafter Baker.
Visitation for Nora Black will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 3985 East Church Street, Hamilton where funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Deborah Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Eddy Cemetery.
