Norma Jean Stambaugh, 92

Norma Jean Stambaugh, 92years, of Bryan, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 19, 2021, in her home, with her family at her side.  Norma was born December 19, 1928, in her family home in Williams County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry J. and Grace M. (Harter) Hire.  She was a 1946 graduate of Bryan High School.  Norma married Robert R. Stambaugh on January 30, 1948, in Bryan, Ohio, and he survives.  Norma was employed by Ohio Art for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1993.  She had previously worked at the ARO Corp.  She was a member of the Bryan Church of Christ and the Bryan Chapter Order of Eastern Star.  Norma enjoyed bowling, reading, baking cookies, collecting cardinals and spending time at the lake cottage with her family.  She treasured the time she could spend with her family, especially her great-grandchildren, being able to rock them to sleep was her favorite thing.  She loved to follow all their activities and accomplishments.

Surviving is her husband, Bob; two daughters, Sandra L. Gordon of Bryan, Ohio, and Debbie J. (Dan) Nixon of Montpelier, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tim (Melissa Allen) Gordon of Bryan, Nikki Hull of Paulding, Ohio,  Matthew Nixon of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Derrick (Megan) Nixon of Westfield, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren, Cassidy Hughart, Korbyn Gordon, Preston Hull, Molly Hull, Sophie Hull, Julia Hull, Danny Hull, Nolan Nixon and Owen Nixon; one sister, Edith Wagner of West Unity.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister, Patricia Ann Hire.

Visitation for Norma Jean Stambaugh will be held Friday, February 26, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon in the Bryan First Church of Christ, 129 North Walnut Street, Bryan with Funeral services to follow at 12:00 noon in the Bryan First Church of Christ with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating.  Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery.  Due to Covid-19 mandates, social distancing with be observed and face coverings must be worn in the church.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home.

The family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy to consider memorial contributions be made to Bryan First Church of Christ, 129 North Walnut Street, Bryan, Ohio, 43506.
