Norma Wood, 70

Norma Wood, 70 years, of Waterloo, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Lakeland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Angola. Norma was born on August 3, 1947 in Auburn, Indiana, the daughter of the late Thomas Seth and Eva Blanche (Richey) Wood. She was a 1965 graduate of Hamilton High School. Norma held several different employment opportunities, but retired from Pent Products of Hamilton. She was a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ. Norma loved to attend county fairs, going to flea market and shopping in Shipshewana, attending Hamilton High School boys’ and girls’ basketball games. Nascar and watching Indiana University basketball games. Norma also loved to spoil her many cats, especially Abby, her “invisible” cat, who was her constant companion. Norma was an avid reader and read hundreds of books in her lifetime as well as watch her favorite TV shows. She loved to do word searches as well.

Surviving is her brother, James M. (Doris) Wood of Peru, Indiana; nephews, Michael Thomas Wood of Anderson, Indiana, James O. (Jan) Eliason of Peru, Indiana, Scott (Joanna) Eliason of Las Vegas, Nevada; great-nephew, Joey (Rachel) Eliason; four great nieces, Jillian Eliason, Brittany (James) Rutherford, Melissa Eliason and Julie (Patrick) Petrowsky of Peru, Indiana; great-great Niece, Alexia Wells; great-great niece Katy and great-great nephew Calin; cousins, Rebecca and Charles Carey of Hicksville, Ohio, Larry Richey of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Thomas Seth Wood, Jr. and a sister, Mary L. Wood.

Memorial services for Norma Wood will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 in the Hamilton Church of Christ, 4045 East Bellefountaine Road, Hamilton with Pastor Jeff Alexander officiating. Private interment will follow in Hamilton Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 3985 East Church Street, Hamilton.
