In Pioneer, the North Central Local Schools Board of Education met in regular session and agree to put an income tax levy on the March ballot. The three-year, three quarter percent earned income tax would cost approximately $375 dollars a year for a taxpayer making $50,000 per year. It would generate an estimated $658,314 dollars. The board unanimously passed the resolution. In other business, the board set its organizational meeting for Jan. 8th. They also approved a resolution to purchase a bit of land from the non-profit Friends of the Library. The district plans to expand parking or the playground on the lot, which will be shared with the future location of the Pioneer branch library.
