Ohio congressional maps stand…for now.

The Ohio Redistricting Commissioner reaches a bipartisan agreement on the sixth set of election maps, and no changes are expected locally. The decision to accept the most recent maps was unanimous and included the two Democrats on the commission. Officials say…the Ohio Supreme Court will have to decide if the maps will be good for the rest of the decade, as they believes they should, or for a limited time and the process will have to be held again before the end of the decade. The heads of a group working to get another state constitutional issue on the ballot that would create an independent commission doesn’t agree with the new maps and indicated they would continue the effort to get their issue on the ballot.
