Olen R. “Bob” Hart, 81, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Bob was born July 12, 1941, in Mark Center, Ohio, son of the late Olen R. and Doris M. (Crawfoot) Hart. He was a 1960 graduate of Hicksville High School. Bob married Joyce E. Wonderly on December 30, 1960, in Hicksville, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on December 16, 2018. Bob worked as a foreman at Dana Weatherhead for 35 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hicksville and was an active member of the Hicksville Volunteer Fire Department for many years. In his free time, Bob enjoyed woodworking, camping, and hunting. Bob was also an avid bluegill fisherman and would often host family fish fries with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his four children, Gregory (Lisa) Hart of St. Louis, Missouri, Betsy (Kevin) Roberts of Paulding, Ohio, Deanna (Dave) Mayhew of Hicksville, and Christy Hart of Hicksville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Warren (Sue) Hart of Ney, Ohio; one sister, Carol (John) Ehlinger of Defiance, Ohio; and one sister-in-law, Nancy Hart of Layfette, Indiana. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Joyce E. Hart; one grandson; and one brother, Douglas Hart.
Visitation for Olen R. “Bob” Hart will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral services for Bob will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 6, 2023, at the funeral home with Celebrant Patricia Peter officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
