One Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Allen County.

On Saturday, August 30th, at approximately 1:59 P.M., the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a report of a crash on Hay Rd and Amherst Rd near Harrod, Ohio in Allen County. Stephen Snyder, age 45, from Lima, Ohio was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Hay Rd. The motorcycle approached the T-intersection at Amherst Rd. and continued straight off the roadway striking a large ditch. Mr. Snyder was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Mr. Snyder suffered fatal injuries and was transported by Perry Township EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital.
The motorcycle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Drugs appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
