Paul E. Garber, 61, of Montpelier passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening at home. He was born on May 2, 1954 in Bryan to Atlee Earl and Delma V. (Hartman) Garber. Paul attended Edon High School. On July 19, 1975 he married Shelia M. Dean in Columbia, Ohio and she survives.
In 2012 Paul retired from Powers and Sons in Montpelier after 40 years as a machinist. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Shelia; two daughters, Patti (Kris) Walz of Bryan and Becky (Shawn) LaCourse of Fremont, Indiana; three grandchildren, Hunter Jump, Delton Walz and Dazi Walz; one brother Bill (Bonnie) Garber of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; and four sisters, Charlene Houston of Bryan, Nancy Stickney of Montpelier, Mary (Belmar) Green of Defiance and Betty Thompson of Bryan.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Linda.
Visitation for Paul will be on Saturday, January 2nd from 2-5pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will follow at 5p at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Burkhardt to officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Assistance of Williams County.
