Paul J. Fry, age 83, of Edon, Ohio, died at 4:15 P.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, where he was a patient. Mr. Fry was a 1948 graduate of Edon High School and was a veteran of the United States Marines. He had been employed by The Aro Corporation in Bryan, Ohio, retiring with 45 years of service. Paul was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blakeslee, Ohio, and Knights of Columbus Council #3883 in Blakeslee, was an avid bowler and collector of farm toys and was a member of Edon American Legion Post #662.
Paul J. Fry was born on December 22, 1930, in Edon, Ohio, the son of Gearhart Nicholas “G.H.” and Pauline A. (Steffes) Fry. He married Mary Ida Hartley on November 26, 1953, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Kathleen (Brian) Dunkle, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Melissa (Spencer) Zeedyk, of Davidson, North Carolina; two sons, Paul J. (Pamela) Fry, Jr. and Donald D. (Shelly) Fry, both of Bryan; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Carl Fry, of Archbold, Ohio, Roy (Peggy) Fry, of Swanton, Ohio, Virgil Fry, of Bryan, and Alfred (Mary Ellen) Fry, of Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Services for Paul J. Fry will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blakeslee with Father Frederick Duschl officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 P.M.
