Pauline Lois (Polly) Oberlin, 92

Pauline Lois (Polly) Oberlin, 92 years, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016. The daughter of Clarence G. and Ida K. (Moll) Weber, she was born April 21, 1924 in Archbold, Ohio. She moved with her family to Bryan in 1925 and graduated from Bryan High School in 1942. She was united in marriage to Earl C. Oberlin II on June 20, 1943.

With her husband, Earl, Mrs. Oberlin was the co-owner and operator of the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home in Bryan, Ohio and Hamilton, Indiana.

Mrs. Oberlin was also a licensed general securities principal and co-founder of MFI Investments Corp., a nationwide investment firm based in Bryan that was listed three times on the “INC 500” list of America’s fastest growing privately-held companies during her vice-chairmanship. She was the Chairman of the Board of Oberlin-Financial Corp., a National Independent Broker/Dealer and Investment Advisory firm, also based in Bryan.

Polly was a 70-year member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, former president of the Wesley United Methodist Women; a founding member of the Bryan Civic League and Bryan Women’s Welcome Club; a member for over 70 years of the Order of the Eastern Star; a Rotary Foundation Paul Harris Fellowship Recipient and a member of the Claire Newcomer Club, Literary Forum and other Bryan area clubs and organizations. She was active nationally in the International Association for Financial Planning and she enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by three daughters, Sue (Stephen) Conway of Naples, Florida, Salley Oberlin of Seattle, Washington, and Cynthia Reindl of Bryan; son, Cliff (Lisa) Oberlin of Bryan; six grandchildren, Adam (Laura) Epstein of South Orange, New Jersey, J.C. Reindl of Detroit, Michigan, and Max and Luke Oberlin of Bryan, Alison (Neil) Lapointe of Washington, D.C. and Robin (Michael) Poulos of New York, New York; nine great-grandchildren, Silas, Caleb, Rose and Madeline Epstein; Vivian and Ben Lapointe; and Anne, Theodore and James Poulos; one brother, Robert (Betty) Weber of Beachwood, Ohio; two nephews, one niece and numerous first cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Oberlin in 1999; son-in-law, Jack Reindl in 1987 and sister-in-law, Mildred (Mid) Mitchell in 1992.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 with Pastor Dwight Bowers officiating. Burial will be made in Shiffler Cemetery, rural Bryan.
