PLEAS ENTERED IN DEFIANCE

A man entered pleas Tues­day in Defi­ance County Court to charges result­ing from sev­eral armed rob­beries. 20 year old Michael Brown of Defi­ance faces manda­tory prison time after plead­ing no con­test to charges of aggra­vated bur­glary and felo­nious assault with a firearm spec­i­fi­ca­tion.

A pre-sentence inves­ti­ga­tion was ordered and Brown’s $500,000 cash bond was con­tin­ued. Sen­tenc­ing was sched­uled for 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 in com­mon pleas court.

The max­i­mum penalty Brown faces for the charges is 21 years in prison, includ­ing three years of manda­tory prison time for the firearm spec­i­fi­ca­tion that must run con­sec­u­tive to the other time imposed.
