A fire at a pole barn on Wednesday afternoon, north of Angola, caused nearly $200,000 worth of damage. Flames broke out just after 3:00pm yesterday on the Clay Griffin along State Road 127. The building had a lot of small equipment in it, along with large round bales of hay. The fire was under control within about an hour, but several firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion and fatigue due to the heat and humidity. The cause of the fire was ruled accidental due to excessive heat and combustible materials. Nobody was hurt.
