PROPERTY OWNERS GET LETTER IN DEFIANCE

A let­ter sent by Defi­ance City Hall to a num­ber of prop­erty own­ers forc­ing pos­si­ble annex­a­tion was the topic of dis­cus­sion at a meet­ing Tues­day night.

Coun­cil­man David Plant expressed his con­cern about the let­ter dur­ing council’s reg­u­lar meet­ing.

The let­ter Plant ref­er­enced to was dated June 6 and signed by city admin­is­tra­tor Jeff Leonard, and is part of the city’s efforts to prompt more annex­a­tions. It was sent to Defi­ance prop­erty own­ers who are receiv­ing munic­i­pal util­i­ties, but are not within the munic­i­pal boundaries..
