Indiana Conservation Officers, along with officers from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department and the Steuben County Coroner are investigating human skeletal remains found at Hamilton Lake in Steuben County.
A person walking near the lake discovered the remains Saturday evening near the shoreline. On Sunday, scuba divers from the Indiana Conservation Officers, and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Dept conducted an extensive underwater search of the area and found other possible human skeleton.
Officials say the investigation shows so far, that the remains may be archeological in nature. Confirmation of that is expected to come following examination by forensic experts in Indianapolis.
