Rex A. Mohr, 71

Rex Allan Mohr passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Toledo Hospital. Born on May 4, 1953, in Defiance, Ohio, he was the son of the late Russell and Margaret (Brittig) Mohr. On August 20, 1993, he married the love of his life, Cheryl D. (Snyder) Mohr.

Rex was a 1971 graduate of Defiance High School. He retired from Chief Supermarket in 2012 after 43 years of dedicated service. Known affectionately by his close friends as “Rex-er-man” and “Sexy Rexy!” He found his greatest joy in spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He was deeply involved in the lives of his grandchildren, attending every sporting event and cherishing every moment spent with them

For 39 years, Rex enjoyed camping, with his happy place being on his deck at Woodbridge Campground and Shepherd’s Pasture Campground. There, he loved visiting with his many camping friends, cooking, and grilling for his family. He was known for his love of going out to eat with his family more than the average person, always asking where they were going to eat! Rex spent countless memorable hours fishing with his buddy Craig. He had a passion for nature and took great pleasure in watching the birds. He will be fondly remembered for his warmth, dedication, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Rex is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; son, Shawn (Julie Herber) Fox; daughter, Stacy (Brad) Ussery; grandkids, Logan (Jonny Meisner) Tijerina, Katlynn (Djuan Peel) Tijerina, Kyla (Derek) Vincent, Brody Ussery, Camden Herber, Amaya Fox, and Dexten Fox; great grandkids, Bentley Meisner, Emersyn Tijerina, and Baby Peel; brothers, Harold Mohr and Rick (Elayne) Mohr; and sister, Cathy Suman. Rex is preceded by four brothers, Don, Paul, Roger, and Frances Mohr; brothers-in-law, Gary Boedicker and Jerry Snyder; sisters-in-law, Mary Kathryn and Joyce Mohr; and father-in-law, Elward Snyder.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Rex’s arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 W. Mulberry St.

The family requests memorial contributions to ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital Oncology Department, 1200 Ralston Ave, Defiance, Ohio 43512.
