Rex Howard “Admiral” Roth, age 78, of Wauseon, died Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Toledo Hospital, as the result of chemotherapy treatments. Prior to his retirement he had been a Corrosion Technician for the ANR Pipeline for many years.
Rex was born in Wauseon on May 30, 1937, the son of William and Mary (Doane) Roth. On September 14, 1958 he married Kay Pence, and she survives. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Wauseon. Rex had served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 – 1957. He was a member of the Wauseon American Legion Post #265. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan and loved watching his granddaughter, Anna, play sports.
Surviving is his wife, Kay; son, Pence (Jodi) Roth of Bradenton, FL; daughter, Amy (Mike) Marshall of Wauseon; and granddaughter, Anna Marshall. He is also survived by two brothers, Lowell (Dianne) Roth and Joe Roth, both of Wauseon. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Delbert, Arden, Gene and Jerry.
Visitation for Rex will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Wauseon, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the First Christian Church or the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation.
