Richard L. “Stick” Lyons, 72

Richard L. “Stick” Lyons, 72 years, of Bryan, passed away suddenly, Friday, May 10, 2019 in his residence.  Rick was born June 12, 1946 in Bryan, the son of the late Wesley and Martha (Earlston) Lyons.  He was a 1965 graduate of Bryan High School.  Rick was inducted into the United States Army where he served faithfully until his discharge.  Rick was a tow motor operator for Bard Manufacturing for 40 years, retiring in 2009.  He was a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233, Montpelier Moose Lodge #312, Fish Anglers Club, Coon Hunters Lodge and the Bryan VFW Post #2489.   Rick loved to hunt and fish, go camping but most importantly follow the activities of his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his two children, Lorie (Tony) Sines of Bryan and Chad (Kim) Lyons of Montpelier; five grandchildren, Austin Brust, Maigan Brust, Emily Sines, Jared Lyons and Jaelyn Lyons; companion, Carolyn Brown of Bryan; one brother, LeRoy “Bud” Lyons of Bryan; three sisters, Annabelle West of Bryan, Florence Lyons-Struble of Bryan and Mary Jane Ridenour of Bryan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph and Clancy Lyons; three sisters, Margaret Stahl, Donna Lyons-Smith and Kathryn “Kay” Smith.

Memorial Services for Richard L. “Rick” Lyons will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Lynn Street Chapel, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, with Pastor Jeff Sheldon officiating.  A Gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until the start of services.  A Private graveside committal service will be held Thursday with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the combined men of the Bryan VFW Post 2489 and the Bryan American Legion Post 284.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Williams County Veterans Memorial 875 East Main Street, Montpelier, Ohio 43543.
