Richard J. McClure, age 87, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Genesis HealthCare- Bryan Center, where he had been a resident. Mr. McClure was an Engineer for the B&O Railroad and a US Army-Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, and enjoyed spending time at the Bryan Senior Center and the CHP Adult Day Care in Archbold.
Born July 3, 1927 in Williams County, Richard was the son of Leo R. and Audrey V. (Hastings) McClure. He married Hildegard C. Bleke on April 18, 1954 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2009. Richard is survived by his sisters, Ruth (Leo) Thomas, of Bryan and Helen Gordon, of Reno, Nevada and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, Marlene, brother Leo McClure, Jr. and a sister, Virginia Hemenway.
Funeral services for Richard J. McClure will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan with Reverend Kurt Letcher officiating. Burial will follow at Farmer Cemetery with grave side military rites provided by the Farmer American Legion Post #137. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 4:00 P.M.
