Robert A. Luderman, affectionately known as Bob, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the age of 88, in Hicksville, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones, following a brief illness.
Bob was born on February 11, 1935, to Laura Mae (Swinehart) and Raymond Henry George Luderman in Findlay, Ohio. After graduating from Mark Center High School in 1952, he embarked on a successful career, beginning at Defiance Milk Products and General Motors. Later, he found his true passion working for Dotco until 1978, at which point he courageously ventured out on his own, founding Bob Luderman Associates, Inc. on June 1, 1978—a venture that continues to thrive today.
In 1955, fate intervened, and Bob’s life took a momentous turn when he met Jeannine (Speiser). Their love story blossomed, and they exchanged vows on July 8, 1956, in Sherwood, Ohio. Together, they shared a beautiful life, blessed with three children: Rebecca Celenko (deceased), Robert “Bob” (Lori) Luderman Jr , and Maria (Brad) Gaugler-Penn.
Bob’s heart swelled with pride for his six grandchildren, with whom he cherished countless moments and created lasting memories. His grandchildren were a source of immense joy in his life: Dr. Kathryn (Mike Davis) Luderman, Robert (Alison) Luderman III , Dr. Lauryn (Adam Bates) Luderman, Elizabeth (Trent) Jones, Emily (Nick) Chuvalas), and James Michael (Zara) Gaugler III. Furthermore, Bob’s joy knew no bounds as he embraced his role as a great-grandfather to six, with two more eagerly awaited additions expected in late August and October (Avery Davis, Claire Davis; Robert Luderman IV, Larkin Luderman, Ike Luderman; Archer Chuvalas; Baby Jones, and Baby Gaugler).
Retirement was not in Bob’s vocabulary, as he continued to be actively involved in his business, relishing every challenge it brought. Beyond his professional endeavors, Bob enjoyed spending quality time with his loving wife, embarking on golfing adventures and traveling to new destinations.
In his leisure time, Bob found delight in stimulating his mind with crossword puzzles and engaging in entertaining games of Sudoku and cards, and Scrabble matches with family and friends. Bob was also a longstanding member of the Hicksville Rotary, a board member of the Huber Opera House, as well as a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Sherwood.
Bob Luderman will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather. His enduring legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched, leaving behind a trail of love, laughter, and memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, a sister and a daughter. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two sisters, a brother, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held where friends and family will be received at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral home (706 North Main, Hicksville, Ohio), Monday, August 7, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m, at St. John Lutheran Church (09088 Openlander Road, Sherwood, Ohio) with viewing one hour prior to service at the church. Bob’s final resting place will be at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. John Lutheran Church (Sherwood), Huber Opera House (Hicksville) and Community Health Professional (Hospice).
May he rest in peace, and may his spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
