Robert “Bob” N. Kyser, 84

Robert “Bob” Kyser, born in Bryan, Ohio on August 27, 1940, passed away on September 20, 2024, in Kendallville, IN at the age of 84.

Bob built a long career in finance, but it was later in life that he found his true calling working with special needs children at Lee County Schools in Florida. Bob quickly became a favorite among the students and staff, because of the genuine interest he took in the well-being of each child he worked with.

Bob had a deep love for his family. He enjoyed spending time fishing with friends and loved ones (often charming them into baiting his hook for him) and was always eager to claim victory in a friendly game of cards, where his competitive spirit often shone through. But nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren and especially his great-grandchildren, whom he adored with all his heart. Whether it was sharing stories, playing games or simply enjoying each other’s company, spending time with family meant the world to Bob.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 62 years, Frieda “Edi” Kyser, his parents Robert “Bob” Kyser and Clara Etta Kyser, sisters Alice Hardman and Karen Tyner, his son-in-law Mike Stoner, his sister-in-law Peggy Kyser, and brother-in-law Don Wagner

Left to carry on his legacy of love and laughter are his children Kim Stoner, Kathleen (Keith) Vandyne, and Robert “Bob” (Margo) Kyser. His memory will also live on through his grandchildren, Jessica (Greg) Erpelding, Rachel (Andrew) Kennedy, and Leah Sankey, as well as his six great-grandchildren, who will forever hold their Papa in their hearts.

Also surviving are his cherished brothers Lee Kyser, and Paul (Barb) Kyser, in-laws Bill Hardman, Aileen Baumgardner, Luther (Janet) Allen, Jan Wagner, Marvin (Nevonna) Allen, and Larry Allen.

Family will be holding a private ceremony at his home, on Saturday, October 19th, 2024.
