Robert C. “Bob” Mountz, 86

Robert C. “Bob” Mountz, 86 years, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at Cameron Memorial Hospital, Angola. Bob was born July 28, 1929 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Fay Lynn and Dorothy May (Bowerman) Mountz. He was a 1948 graduate of Huntertown High School. He then served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, serving aboard the USS Midway, as a Hospital Corpsman. Bob was a self-employed builder and contractor for 30 years, retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Angola American Legion Post 31. Bob enjoyed fishing, traveling, reading, woodworking, History and genealogy. He could also be considered an avid IU basketball fan.

Surviving are his three daughters, Pamela S. (Tom) Schroeder of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Deborah L. Mountz of Angola and Laura A. (Kerry) Miller of Angola; and one son, Gregory Bougher of Woodburn, Indiana. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Janice A. Powell of Burr Ridge, Illinois; special friend, Billie Underwood of Fremont, Indiana and his cat, Motor. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no visitation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hamilton.
