Robert C. Satterlee, 79 years, of Wellington, Florida and formerly of Sherwood, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Palms West Hospital, Loxahatchee Florida. Robert was born February 18, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of the late Louis Emerson and Frances A. (Jahnke) Satterlee. He was a 1956 graduate of Peoria High School. Robert was a Truck Driver, driving for Reed Van Lines and Dana Corporation, where he received several awards for driving over a million miles without any accidents. He enjoyed watching television, especially western movies with John Wayne in them. He also was a follower of NASCAR. He was an admirer of old cars and he owned an old Cadillac, which he cherished.
Surviving is his wife, Melissa of Wellington, Florida; six children, Robin Gross of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bobbie Jo (Larry “Jug”) Koehler of Sobieski, Wisconsin, Tammy Jo Satterlee of Mark Center, Ohio, Frances “Frankie” (Jeff) Stepien of Sobieski, Wisconsin, Adam Shapiro of New York City, New York and Allison Saltzer of Denver, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two former wives, Sharon Hochstedler and Tamara Jolene Swanson and granddaughter, Rachel Gross.
Private graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 in Sherwood Cemetery, Sherwood, Ohio. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.
