Robert Knapp, 73

Robert V. Knapp, age 73, of Liberty Center, Ohio passed away Friday September 25, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysberg. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for General Motors in Defiance for more than 39 years.

Mr. Knapp was born in Delta, Ohio on October 17, 1941 the son of the late Sam and the late Mary (Bumpus) Knapp. On June 13, 1964 he married the former Carol Sue Huva and she survives. He was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church of rural Delta. He was an outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and helping those in need.

Surviving besides his wife, Carol are sons; Dennis (Deb) Knapp of Wauseon, Robert (Jessica) Knapp, Jr. of Hamler; Adam (Tracy) Paxton of Dunkirk, Ohio, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers; Paul (Wendy) Knapp of Silver Springs, Florida, Sam (Shirley) of Liberty Center and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a daughter Stephanie and sons; Timothy and Rodney.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday September 29, 2015 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon with Pastor Chuck Whitmire officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm.
