Robert M. “Bob” Leupp, age 86, of Archbold, passed away in his home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Prior to his retirement he had been a Millwright. He had worked for the former Castle Coach in Stryker for many years, then he worked at a Mobile Home Plant in Abington, Virginia, the Aro Corporation in Bryan, and then for the Napoleon Lumber Company in Napoleon for 20 years. In 1992, Bob and his son bought the construction business from Napoleon Lumber Company and formed Leupp Building Services. Bob retired in 2001.
Bob was born on the family homestead, near Archbold, on September 13, 1931, the son of John J. and Florence S. (Kutzli) Leupp. On August 9, 1975, he married Mary K. Kimble, and she survives. Bob was a Millwright by profession, but a jack of all trades. He was an avid fisherman and spent many winters in Corpus Christi, Texas, so that he could fish in the Gulf. Bob was also a private pilot and built his own airplane. Bob and Mary were able to travel to Italy, Portugal, Hawaii, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Surviving is his wife, Mary; children, Greg (Theresa) Leupp of Angola, IN, Douglas (Marcia) Leupp, Maureen (Mike) Boisson of Reading, PA, Patricia (Tim) Pfau of Kalamazoo, MI, Christine Saputo of Corpus Christi, TX, David (Helen) Pfau of Clearwater, FL, Scott (Karen) Saputo of Napoleon, Stephen (Julie) Saputo of Napoleon, Amy (Ed) Guthrie of Holland, OH, Jeff (Tammy) Carl of Napoleon; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and former spouse, Mother of his children, Barbara Hoffman Schindler. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Hazen Leupp, John Leupp, Charles Leupp, Kathryn Meyer, Victor Leupp, and James Leupp.
Funeral services will be private. There will be no visitation. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to St. John’s Christian Church in Archbold, St. Augustine Catholic School in Napoleon, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
