Roberta M. Cook, 82

Roberta M. Cook, 82 years, of Arcadia, Florida, went home to her Lord and Savior, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier, Ohio.  Roberta was born July 27, 1937, in Mishawaka, Indiana, the daughter of Samuel Smith and Thelma Eldean (Emmert) Platner.  She was a 1955 graduate of Ernest W. Seaholm High School, Birmingham, Michigan.  Roberta received her bachelor’s degree in 1959 from Cincinnati Bible College.  She married C. Robert Cook, and he preceded her in death.  Roberta was the Office Manager for Dermatology Associates of Lima for 23 years, retiring in 1999.  Prior to this, Roberta served as an Administrative Assistant at the Rose Shop in Lima, Garrett High School, Garrett, Indiana and for the Superintendent of Zanesville Schools, Zanesville, Ohio.  Roberta loved to garden, cook and knit.  She had knitted over 1800 caps for babies at the hospital in Arcadia, Florida.  She loved Florida weather and spent the final years of her life living there.  She had a deep passion for her family, who she loved very much.

Surviving are her daughters, Noelle (Kim) Keller of Camden, Michigan and Heather Tschopp of Michigan City, Indiana; one granddaughter, Aleesha; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Isaac; mother, Thelma Platner of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, James (Pat) Platner of St. Joe, Indiana and sister, Pamela (Jerry) Platner of Liberty Township, Ohio.  She is also survived by several nieces, a nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home – Lynn Street Chapel, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.  Graveside committal services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. Joe Valley Memorial Park, 375 West Cleveland Road, Granger, Indiana, 46530, with her brother, James C. Platner officiating.
