Roger D. Canaday, age 59, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 5:40 A.M. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, near Defiance, Ohio, after an extended illness. Roger was a 1978 graduate of Edgerton High School and had been employed by Edgerton Metal Products for more than twenty years until the closing of the plant. He was currently employed by Martin- Sprocket in Montpelier, Ohio, where he had been for more than fifteen years. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed the outdoors, working around the house, spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Baby.
Roger D. Canaday was born on January 8, 1959, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of James W. and Edna M. (Davis) Canaday.
Survivors include his mother, Edna, of Edgerton; one sister, Jackie (Patrick) Ailiff, of Edgerton; two brothers, Kyle (Linda) Canaday, of Cromwell, Indiana, and Kevin (Connie) Canaday, of Bryan; and his nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, James Canaday.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Michael Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
