Roger D. Severence, age 71, of Kunkle, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon. Roger was a communications technician at GTE and Verizon for many years prior to his retirement. Roger served on the Edon and Kunkle Fire Departments for over 50 years in total. He was very active in the Kunkle Department, especially after his retirement.
Roger was born November 24, 1953 in Bryan, the son of Donald A. and Evelyn E. (Ford) Severence. He was a 1971 graduate of Edon High School. Roger married Debra Jean Nelson on July 16, 1976 in Bryan and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2012.
Roger is survived by his sons, Benjamin (Hannah) Severence, of Wadsworth, Ohio and Tony (Kelly) Severence, of West Unity; daughter, Amber Jones, of Kunkle; 5 grandchildren; a great grandchild and sisters, Wanda Firestone, of Montpelier and Joyce Psurny, of Cantonment, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deb, and parents.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held in the Summer of 2025 and will be announced by his family. His arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.
