Ronald K. Olson, age 64, of Shepherd, Michigan passed away early Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Mid- Michigan Medical Center of Midland. He was an elementary school teacher for the Crawford AuSable School District in Michigan for 32 years prior to his retirement in 2006. Ron was an artist, a poet, a song writer, and philosopher. He treasured his family above all things. He played an active role in the daily lives of his children and grandchildren, and loved spending time with his siblings, nieces, and their families. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed!
Ron was born on May 17, 1951 in Kewenee, IL, the son of the late Emil and the late Miriam (Johnson) Olson. Surviving are his daughters: Rebecca (Brian) Stuckey of Wauseon, Heather (Dustin) Scharer of Hillsdale, MI, Sherrill (David) Woodard of Wauseon and Abigail Olson of Alma, MI. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren: Brayden and Carter Stuckey, Damion, Dominic and Dawson Scharer of Hillsdale, and Ethan, Hallie and Alexandra Woodard; sister Karol (Dave) Lehman of Lansing, MI and brother David (Pat) Olson of Jackson, MI. Preceding him in death was sister Joyce (Jim) Young.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 12, 2016, in the Chapel of the Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon with Pastor Tyler Quillet and Pastor Nate Hamblin officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4:00-8:00pm at Crossroads Evangelical Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the family’s choice.
