Roy Eugene Wagner, 70, Defiance, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Roy was born in Defiance, Ohio, on September 16, 1947, the son of the late Paul and Rosa (Miranda) Wagner. After graduation from high school, Roy served in the United States Army, which included combat service in Vietnam. Roy drove truck for many years for Keller Trucking of Defiance. He was a member of VFW Post 3360, as well as a member of the Xperience Church in Defiance.
Roy enjoyed many things in life, but that most precious to him was his love for his country and his love for his granddaughter.
He is survived by a son, Jason (Kelly) Wagner, Defiance; a daughter, Jeniffer Wagner, Defiance; a brother, Paul Wagner, Defiance; and a sister, Mary Cruz, Defiance.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray Wagner.
Funeral services for Roy will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Pastor Kyle Brownlee of the Xperience Church of Defiance will officiate. Visitation for Roy will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. Roy will be cremated and then interred in the veterans section of Riverside Cemetery. VFW Post 3360 Honor Guard will provide graveside military rites.
