Ruth Ann Apt, 70

Ruth Ann Apt, 70 years, of Sherwood, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015, in her residence. Ruth was born on June 18, 1945, in Henry County, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lorena (Aschemeier) Herge. She was a 1963 graduate of Napoleon High School and furthered her education at Defiance College, graduating in 1967. Ruth married Larry W. Apt in the spring of 1970 in Ridgeville, Ohio. She began her teaching career at Bryan City Schools where she taught for four years. She then worked as a child care provider for many years. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also liked spending time watching The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Surviving is her husband, Larry of Sherwood; three children, Tammy (Kurt) Wisnofske of Toledo, Jerry Apt of Stryker, and Suzanne (Robert) Bailey of Sherwood and nine grandchildren.

Memorial Services for Ruth Ann Apt will be held Thursday, December 31, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Eric Burkhardt officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the memorial service on Thursday at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m..
