Ruth M. Leu, 85

Ruth M. Leu, 85 years, of Bryan, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at her residence with her family at her side. Ruth was born April 21, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late Rev. Raymond E. and Florence M. (Sattler) Springer. She was a 1949 graduate of Archbold High School. Ruth married L.G. Leu on March 22, 1952, in Manchester, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2015. Ruth worked in the Time Study Department at ARO Corporation for six years and she also worked at Pet Milk in the office for ten years until she retired in 1984. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, where she sang in the church choir for 40 years and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Top of Ohio Dulcimer Friends and Thursday Lunch Bunch, which, she enjoyed tremendously. Ruth enjoyed gardening but most of all she cherished her time spent with family. She especially cherished traveling with her family.

Surviving are her two children, Tim (Pat) Leu of Lancaster, Ohio and Cathy Leu of Bryan; two grandsons, Adam (Jessica) Leu of Lancaster, Ohio and Aaron (Tricia) Leu also of Lancaster, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren, Malachi, Hannah, Sarah Ruth, Naomi, Nehemiah, Zayin, Ezekiel, and Azalea Pearl Leu; one brother, John (Gregoria) Springer of Hamilton, Montana; three sisters, Ann Watkins of Hamilton, Indiana, Faith (Bob) Meyer of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Jane Engesser of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.G.; two brothers, Luther Springer, and Ronald Springer.

Visitation for Ruth M. Leu will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home – Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 509 Center Street, Bryan with Pastor Mary Beth Smith Gunn officiating. Private interment for the immediate family will be made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Bryan. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
