Sally D. Dewey, 78, of Hicksville, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Vancrest of Hicksville. Sally was born February 25, 1945, in Hicksville, Ohio, daughter of the late Billy A. and Marcella R. (Panico) Scott. She was a 1963 graduate of Hicksville High School. Sally married her high school sweetheart, Dallas D. Dewey on June 29, 1963, in Hicksville, Ohio and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2020. While in high school, Sally was a student at Fort Wayne Ballet Company. Along with her sister, Jill Handy, they taught Ballet to students in Hicksville from 1970-1975. She worked as a realtor at Gorrell Brothers Real Estate for 15 years, retiring in 1984. Sally was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of Rachael Chapter of Mother’s Club. Sally loved her family and enjoyed family vacations and gathering with her family for holidays and other events.

Surviving are her three children, Alisa (Mike) Burlingame of Hicksville, Ohio, Shad Dewey of Hicksville, Ohio and Amanda (Timothy) Perroud of Brighton, Michigan; six grandchildren, Abigail Beckham, Evan Sechler, Ty Perroud, Kyle (Heather) Burlingame, Tonya (Chad) Bauman, and Kody Burlingame; seven great-grandchildren, David Beckham, Brett Burlingame, Leah Burlingame, Drew Burlingame, Paizley Burlingame, Jack Bauman, and Lady Bauman; sister, Jill Handy of Hicksville, Ohio; many special nieces and nephews. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dallas Dewey; brother-in-law, Jim Handy; sisters-in-law, Shelia Howard and Sandra Wallace.

Visitation for Sally will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio followed by a memorial service celebrating Sally’s life beginning at 12:00 noon in the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
