Sarah Beltz, 60

Sarah M. Beltz, 60 years, of Sherwood, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio. Sarah was born on September 19, 1954 in Bryan Ohio, the daughter of the late Harvey and Katie (Figley) Hanna. She was a 1972 graduate of Bryan high school and continued her education at Northwest State Community College where she attained a degree as a Registered Nurse.  Sarah married Bryon Curtis Beltz on October 9, 1971 in Mark Center, Ohio, and he survives. She was very passionate about her career as a registered nurse working at Defiance Regional Hospital for the past 25 years. She was a member of the Nurses Association. In her free time Sarah enjoyed antiquing, knitting, and spending time with her cat.

Surviving is her husband, Byron of Sherwood; one daughter Cynthia (John) Cook of Fort Wayne, Indiana;  two sons, Curtis (Dorrene) Beltz of Defiance, Ohio and Jacob Beltz and his companion Michelle of Bryan, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Root, James Cook, Mark Cook, Damon Beltz, Alex Beltz and Curtis Beltz; one great-granddaughter,  Caroline Root; one brother, George (Pat) Hanna of Bryan Ohio and one sister, Jo (Bob) Roehrs of Bryan, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Janet Roehrs.

Graveside services for Sarah M. Beltz will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance with Pastor Don Laukhuf officiating.  There will not be any visitation.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood, Ohio.
