Roughly 150 employees at Sauder Woodworking were laid off recently. The announcement originally came out last week. The layoffs came as a result of a drop in sales. Some adjustments to employment levels had to be made to react to the sales drop. A couple of shifts were reduced and there was a reduction to staffing. The layoffs happened as the company transitions to a single shift model.
