SCHOOL VIOLENCE FORUM HELD

A school safety and gun vio­lence forum was spon­sored this week by the Shalom Coun­sel­ing Medi­a­tion Cen­ter and Defi­ance Col­lege and was held on Tues­day at the col­lege.

Area law enforce­ment offi­cials, edu­ca­tors, and many local res­i­dents showed up and expressed their con­cerns about safety in our local schools.

Some dis­cussed options already taken in response to recent school vio­lence across the coun­try, while oth­ers asked ques­tions to learn more about actions they are considering.
