Scott K. Hemenway, 69

Scott K. Hemenway, 69, of Grover Hill, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Vancrest of Van Wert, Van Wert, Ohio. Scott was born July 24, 1954, in Wauseon, Ohio, son of the late Walter S. and Ruth E. (Raymond) Hemenway. He was a 1972 graduate of Fairview High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. He continued his education on a baseball scholarship and received an associate degree in philosophy from Glen Oaks College. He married Mary Ann Cook on December 25, 1988, in Grover Hill, Ohio, and she survives. Scott worked for Trim Trends for 21 years as a floor worker and five years as a supervisor. He also worked at the Eaton Corporation in hose assembly for 13 years, retiring in 2018.  Scott formerly attended Asbury United Methodist Church, Williams Center. He was a lifetime member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233. Scott enjoyed playing golf at Suburban Golf Course in Bryan, Ohio, spending time with his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Ann Hemenway of Grover Hill, Ohio; two daughters, Brandie (David) Bell of Bryan, Ohio and Jessica (Matt) Axford of West Unity, Ohio; three stepchildren, Annetta Bond of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Matthew Dunham of Rushville, Indiana and James (Michelle) Dunham of Van Wert, Ohio; two grandchildren, Zain Bell and Cooper Bell; nine step-grandchildren, Nicholas Spencer, Christy Doner, Jordan Dunham, Derek Dunham, Kaitlin Dunham, Destiny Dunham, Hannah Dunham, Liam Dunham and Ariana Dunham; one step great-grandson, Leo Dunham; two sisters, June (Bob) Klingler of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Twig (Bill Cullnane) Hemenway of Goshen, Indiana along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation or services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.
