Scouts gather over the weekend for Camporee.

More than 200 members of Scouting America gathered at Maumee Bay State Park over the weekend for the Camporee, a three-day event where scouts from across Ohio honed outdoor skills, earned merit badges, and strengthened bonds of teamwork and friendship. Scouts from as nearby as Toledo and as far away as Mansfield and Columbus arrived Friday to kick off the weekend of camping, learning, and adventure. The Camporee focused on teaching practical outdoor skills that organizers say stick with participants well into adulthood.
