An explosion Friday at Sensory Effects in Defiance sent two people to the hospital.
It happened around 4:30 Friday afternoon inside the West High Street plant, when a dryer caught fire according to employees.
Shane Spangler suffered burns and was taken to ProMedica Defiance Hospital, and then flown to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for further treatment.
According to a press release from Sensory Effects, Spangler’s injuries are not life threatening.
Another employee was taken to ProMedica and treated for smoke inhalation. That employee has since been released from the hospital.
The cause of that Friday afternoon blaze is still under investigation by the Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office.
