Sharon L. Shull, 82

Sharon L. Shull, 82, of New Haven, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in her residence with her family by her side.  Sharon was born June 12, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Russell and Elaine (Stroup) Luce.  Sharon married John L. Shull on July 29, 1967, in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2001.  She worked as a line worker at Chase Brass and Copper Company in Montpelier, Ohio, for over 25 years, where she also served as the shop steward for the United Steelworkers Union.  Prior to Chase Brass, Sharon worked at BFGoodrich and Sheller-Globe Corporation.  Sharon’s family fondly remembers her breaking workplace barriers as one of the first female workers on the production floor at her places of employment.  In her free time, Sharon loved hosting holiday meals at their family home, alternating every year between the Shull and Luce families.

Sharon is survived by her three children, Jerry (Stacy) Shull of Hamilton, Indiana, Sabrena Shull of New Haven, Indiana, and Dr. John L. (Stephanie) Shull, Jr. of Delta, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Taylor of New Haven, Indiana, and Kay (Ralph) Roy of Ossian, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Kay Luce of Indiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; an infant son, John E. Shull; a brother, Russell “Butch” Luce; a sister, Carol Simmerman; and a foster daughter, Cindy Gilbert.

Visitation for Sharon L. Shull will be held Monday, October 23, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio.  Funeral services for Sharon will immediately follow in the funeral home beginning at 12:00 Noon with Hospice Chaplain Bob Herman officiating.  Interment will follow in Alton Cemetery, St. Joe, Indiana.
