Sherry S. Cobb, 47 years, of Defiance, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sherry was born June 22, 1967 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Richard and Vicki (McIntosh) Harter. She was a 1985 graduate of Paulding High School and a 1989 graduate of Lutheran College of Health Professionals, with a BSN in Nursing. She married William A. “Bill” Cobb on May 15, 1999 in Defiance and he survives. Sherry was a Registered Nurse, previously working for Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan and Montpelier. She most recently was Director of Nursing for CCNO near Stryker. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne. Sherry and Bill were foster parents to three children. She enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting and being with her friends.
Surviving is her husband, Bill of Defiance, Ohio; her parents, Richard and Vicki Harter of Cecil, Ohio; one brother, Jeff (Sonya) Harter of New Haven, Indiana; father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Darlene Cobb of Defiance, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bryan (Diane) Cobb of Larimore, North Dakota, Robb (Rachel) Cobb of Bryan, Ohio and Brent Cobb of Warsaw, Indiana as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Sherry S. Cobb will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood. Funeral services for Sherry will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastors David Dupee and Pat Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery, Sherwood, Ohio.
